Time-Saving Meat Sauce

Making variations of the hamburger sauce and hayashi rice sauce that I often make, I eventually perfected this meat sauce!! Since making it many people have been surprised at how it uses ingredients that can be found in any home, and at how quickly it can be made. I've gotten requests for it, so here it is. My son loves it.

-I recommend ground beef, but a mix of beef and pork, as well as healthy ground chicken also works.
Please use whatever you'd like.
-For the carrots, I recommend a mix of grated as well as finely minced. Recipe by Banyangarden

Steps

  1. 1

Mince the onion. Grate the carrot. Lightly salt and pepper the ground meat.

  2. 2

Melt some butter in a frying pan, and cook the onions. Once they've wilted, add the carrots.

  3. 3

Once the onions have become transparent add the ground meat and cook. Once the meat has cooked through, add the tomato, red wine, ketchup, sauce, and soup stock.

  4. 4

Let it simmer for awhile. Once half of the moisture has cooked off, flavor the mixture with salt and pepper, and it's complete!

  5. 5

It's great with pasta and penne of course, but also delicious on top of rice! It can also be used as filling in pies and bread. There are many ways to use this.
