Gujarati dal dhokli

Rinse toovar dal in running water and add it in the 3/4 liter steel or aluminum pressure cooker. Add 1½ cups water and salt in it. Take peanuts in a small steel bowl and place it on the dal in a cooker. Close the lid and pressure-cook it over medium flame for 3-whistles. Remove cooker from flame and let it stand idle until pressure subsides naturally for approx. 5-7 minutes.

While daal is cooking, prepare dough for dhokli.take 1/2 cup wheat flour, chickpea flour,carom seed,1/4 tsp turmeric powder,1/2 tsp red chilli powder, coriander powder,salt as per taste
Add water as required to prepare dough like a parantha dough. And cover it from a cloth for 10 mins. to set it. - 3
Open the lid of the pressure cooker and remove the bowl of having peanuts and keep it aside

Take out the Tuvar Dal in a big chunk and then pour water into it and stir it with a hand grinder. Lentils should be very thin

Then put bay leaf,large cardamom,curry leaves,salt, peanuts, asafoitida and keep on boiling.

While that toovar daal is boiling with all the ingredients then at other side take that dough which we have prepared.take 1 ball of 2 chapati size and roll it
Then cut that roll into so many square shapes. And put that in toovar daal to boil - 7
Like this you have to take all the balls and have to cut it and then put it in that daal.then add 2 tsp sugar and 3 tsp lemon juice

When the lentils and dhokli are cooked, keep it aside and take frypan put oil in it, add mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds, dry red chilli pieces and red chilli powder, and blanch it.

In the end put some coriander leaves for garnishing
