Prepare ingredients.

Add oil to cooking pot.

Add onions, cook on medium heat until translucent. White onions have a beautiful mild flavor.

Add garlic, stir, add tomatoes and cook till mushy.

Add green grams and hot water for gravy, stir.
- 6
Add all spices, stir and cover on medium heat for five minutes then simmer on low heat for another five minutes.

Serve with rice or chapati.
