Beef Yakiniku (BBQ) Roll California Style

I tried combining the yakiniku and the egg omelet in a sushi roll since they go so well together. My family loved it.
When you finish rolling up the sushi, leave it for 10 minutes so the nori and rice settle down. If you are not having it right away, wrap it neatly with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator. Recipe by Sumashi-

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the warm rice. It can be either freshly cooked rice or microwaved.
- 2
In a bowl, add the rice, sprinkle the sushi vinegar, and mix it thoroughly. Leave it in the bowl until cool.
- 3
Beat the egg and make the Japanese omelet with a tamagoyaki-pan (egg fryer). Do not add seasonings to the egg. It should look like the omelet for a bento filler.
- 4
Once it is done cooking, move it to a plate and let it cool.
- 5
In the same skillet, pan-fry the beef and add the yakiniku (BBQ) sauce.
- 6
Once it is done, move it to a plate and let it cool.
- 7
Cut the omelet to 1 cm long sticks. Match it to the nori length.
- 8
Rinse the leaf lettuce and wipe off the excess water completely. This is very important.
- 9
Prepare a makisu ( sushi bamboo mat).
- 10
Place nori seaweed on the makisu. Leave a narrower space at the edge close to you and a wider space on the other side.
- 11
Spread the sushi rice as shown in the picture. Leave about 1 cm space from the edge of the nori close to you, and 3 cm space on the other side.
- 12
Place leaf lettuce just like in the picture.
- 13
Add the omelet just like in the picture.
- 14
Top it with the pan-fried beef just like in the picture.
- 15
Roll it up from the closer edge while tighten it from above.
- 16
You can also find how to make a sushi roll on the internet. Type "How to make the sushi roll, Youtube" then search.
- 17
When you finish rolling, leave it for about 10 minutes. This way the nori and the rice settle down.
- 18
It is easier to slice the sushi roll if you wet the knife and your hand with vinegar each time you cut it.
- 19
Remove the makisu and cut the sushi. Cut it in the middle first and cut each half into 4 equal sections.
- 20
It will look like these in the picture. Place the end slices of the roll as well.
- 21
Place on a plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds and mayonnaise and it is ready.
- 22
Use your favorite yakiniku (BBQ) sauce.
