Simmered Beef: Great for Hand Rolled Sushi or Rice Bowls

I loved this simmered beef that my mom used to make all the time.
This simmered beef is great when eaten with Korean lettuce in hand rolled sushi, when eaten with wrapped beef sushi, when eaten with scrambled eggs and broth topped on rice, as a plain rice topping, and as a bento lunchbox filling! Adding a little bit of garlic makes it more satisfying. Recipe by LaLaHappy1

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Place the A ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil.
- 2
Add the bite-sized beef, ginger, and garlic. Untangle the beef with chopsticks so that it doesn't clump together.

Cover it with a drop-lid and let it simmer on medium heat while occasionally stirring. When the liquid has lessened, turn off the heat and leave it to sit to let the flavors settle in.

Seafood Rice Bowl with Instant Sushi Rice Seafood Rice Bowl with Instant Sushi Rice
I received some uni (sea urchin) as a gift, so I wented to get some sashimi fish in a hurry and made an instant (cutting corners) sushi rice. The next time I may challenge myself by making chirashi sushi and proper sushi rice. But this instant sushi rice is tasty enough if you're making a small amount. For 2 1/2 rice cooker cups worth. Chili Sesame Avocado & Brown Sushi Rice Bowl for 1 Chili Sesame Avocado & Brown Sushi Rice Bowl for 1
You can use any kind of avocado for this dish, but you want to use just ripened fruit that's still pretty firm.To make the sushi rice, just make one cup of uncooked rice according to package instructions and fold in sushi rice seasoning vinegar in the amount suggested on the bottle - it's usually something like 4 to 5 Tablespoons per 2 cups of uncooked rice, so you'd just halve that if you're only making 1 cup - right after you fluff the rice, while it's still warm. That way, the seasoning soaks in better. One cup of uncooked rice will actually yield 2 to 3 servings, FYI, but it's kinda tricky cooking rice in fractions of cups because the water evaporates much more quickly. If you have some leftover steamed rice (brown or white), you can take a cup of it, cover it with a slightly damp paper towel, microwave it until warm, and fold in 2 teaspoons of sushi seasoning vinegar. You can double the avocado topping recipe if you want to make 2 servings. It's good to go meatless from time to time! :) x -
Beef Rice Bowl Made of Thinly Sliced Sukiyaki Meat Beef Rice Bowl Made of Thinly Sliced Sukiyaki Meat
I had leftover sukiyaki beef, so I simmered it to make a beef rice bowl. You can use shredded meat as long as it's beef. If you simmer the meat for too long, it'll become hard, so make sure that you cook it until it's just cooked through, then let it absorb the flavour in residual heat. When the taste is too strong, adjust with water. Recipe by Ni-na cookpad.japan -

Tender Beef Rice Bowl Tender Beef Rice Bowl
My child is getting old for baby food, but I always keep forgetting to set a portion aside for him. I don't want to be bothered to make another dish for him either.I started cooking with a pressure cooker to simplify cooking. This dish is healthy as it's not fried and the meat is tender.Prepare steamed rice and a filling miso soup as you wait.If using cheap meat, season the beef with sake to tenderize and remove the odor.I seasoned the dish lightly and the meat is tender enough to handle with chopsticks. You can serve this to little children as it is. Separate your children's portion before adding the ginger. Recipe by Gasukun cookpad.japan -

Refreshing Beef Steak Rice Bowl Refreshing Beef Steak Rice Bowl
I made this because the slice of meat that I received was for only one person. You can divide a thick slice of meat meant for one person into 2 and there will be enough, however I wanted to eat plenty until my stomach was full. The oil from the meat contains lots of flavour so please don't wipe it away.Since this slice of meat is only for one person and you're using it for two people, I think it really shouldn't make that much oil.
