Ingredients

4 servings
  • 12 ouncessharp cheddar cheese cut into 12 equal slices or graded
  • 8 slicespotato bread
  • 2crowns of broccoli cut into florettes
  • Halfcup olive oil
  • 2 clovesgarlic
  • 8 ouncescountry ham cut into eight equal slices
  • 4 tablespoonsbutter for finishing

    To roast broccoli preheat the oven to 350°F in a bowl combine the broccoli oil and garlic and toss to coat the broccoli evenly transferred to a baking dish and roast for about one hour until the broccoli and garlic are tender and slightly chard let cool to room temperature use a fork to crush the broccoli and the garlic then mix the garlic in the oil with the broccoli until fully incorporated

    Line up a half of the bread slices on worksurface top each slice with 2 cheese slices, 1/4 of a broccoli, 2 ham slices and a third cheese slice. close sandwich with the remaining bread slices

    Line a large platter with paper towels in a skillet over high heat melt 1 tablespoon of butter turn down the heat to low add one sandwich and cook turning once Two to three minutes on each side until browned and crisp on both sides and the cheese is melted. Transfer to the platter and blot excess grease. Repeat on all other sandwiches. Cut her in half and go
