Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

I grew up obsessed with biscuits and gravy, and it has been far too long since I’ve had a plate. Called up my mom for a refresher on her recipe, and added some extra spices for added flavor! I appreciate the extras, but you can certainly enjoy this with just salt and pepper, too!

I grew up obsessed with biscuits and gravy, and it has been far too long since I’ve had a plate. Called up my mom for a refresher on her recipe, and added some extra spices for added flavor! I appreciate the extras, but you can certainly enjoy this with just salt and pepper, too!

Follow instructions to bake the biscuits. I baked these at 350 for 13 minutes, and they came out perfect! I did spray the sheet pan, and set them up while cooking the meat. I put them in the oven once the sausage was browned and started the timer.

Brown the sausage. Once fully cooked, add the butter and seasonings. If using salted butter, omit salt.

Once the butter is melted, add in the flour. Stir to coat all the meat and absorb the fats from the meat and butter.

Still cooking on medium high, add in the milk. Allow to cook and thicken until preferred consistency. I cooked about 2-3 minutes with the milk, stirring to measure thickness.

Plate and enjoy!
