Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupDaliya / broken wheat
  2. 1/2 cupsplit moong dal
  3. 1tomato
  4. 1/4 cupChopped bottle gourd/ lauki
  5. 1/4 cupChopped carrots
  6. 1/4 cupChopped french beans
  7. 1 tspturmeric
  8. 1 1/2tsp salt or to taste
  9. 1 tbspghee
  10. 1red chilli
  11. 1/8 tspasafoetida
  12. 1/2 inchcinnamon stick
  13. 1/4 tspgaram masala powder
  14. 1 tsproasted Cummin powder

Steps

  1. 1

    In a pressure cooker heat ghee, splattered asafoetida, chilli and cinnamon stick.
    Keep the flame on low.
    Further, add washed broken wheat and moong dal stir continuously and roast for 5 minutes or until it turn golden and aromatic.
    Now add all chopped vegetables.

    Cook for another 4-5 minutes.
    Further, add salt, turmeric powder, garam masala and Cummin powder. Mix everything together, simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
    Add 2 and half cup water, cover and cook until 3 whistles.
    Let the cooker release its pressure then Open the lid.
    Daliya and Moong Dal Khichdi is ready.

    Accompanied it with curd, papad and picked. Serve hot.
