Absolutely delicious! 😋😋 A crumble bar made with almonds and fig jam. Perfect as a snack with tea or a good cup of coffee! 😉

First, beat the softened butter with the sugar and lemon zest until creamy.

Add the sifted flour and mix until the dough becomes crumbly. Divide the dough in half and add the chopped almonds to one half.

Grease and line a 9x10-inch (21x25 cm) removable-bottom baking pan with parchment paper. Press the half of the dough without almonds evenly into the bottom using a spoon. Bake in a conventional oven at 350°F (180°C) for 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and spread the fig jam evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the remaining dough with almonds over the top. Bake for another 25 minutes at 350°F (180°C), or until golden on top.

Let cool, then cut into squares. If you want thicker bars, use a smaller pan! 😉
