Basically, a Sunnah Recipe- Originating from the land of the Islamic Prophet itself & used to be relished by the Prophet himself alike most other Sunnah Recipes- wherein the role of the millet grain Barley play a pivotal role-
Be in any of its forms & delicacies.
It’s majorly consumed during the Ramadan seasons or during their other fasting times & even Jummah Day-wherein it not only quenches one’s thirst but extremely healthy and nutritious, filling & satiating when it comes to the factor of preserving one’s health after a day long tedious & enormously strict fasting process !!!
It can be had both ways- be it warm or chilled based on your own choice & preferences-
I had it chilled of course & loved it much that way-
I tried preparing it for the first time though, in a very easy & simplistic manner & the outcome was simply awesome, incredibly good

Steps
- 1
Boil the Pearl Millets Barley in a saucepan with sufficient water for 2 Servings and bring it to the rolling boil-
Reduce the flame & let it boil on the slow flame for about another 10-12 mins time - 2
That’s how it should look like
- 3
Once done Turn off the flame and allow it to cool down a bit and then, strain it well-
We require its boiled stock and not the boiled barley (we can use those in some other & different interesting recipes) - 4
Now, with the strained barley stock…
Add in the required amount of honey and salt in it, fresh lemon juice & mix everything well together until nicely combined and well blended - 5
Now, pour it into the serving glass/tumbler/pitcher, to be served in-
Add into it- The ice cubes, roughly chopped mint leaves, fresh lemon wedges/roundels and then this barley stock-honey mixture-
Garnish with some pitted dates & pomegranate seeds (I’ve done it that way), you surely can choose to do it your own way
I’ve had it chilled…. - 6
ENJOY this extremely delicious, healthy & nutritional drink which’s considered quite auspicious and comes to all of us directly from the pious land of the Prophet
