Ethiopian Injera Sourdough Flatbread Ethiopian Injera Sourdough Flatbread
I became hooked on the injera and wat (Ethiopian curry) that my colleague would always give me. Now, it's become an essential part of my meals, in addition to rice. Like a sour crepe, this sponge-like bread absorbs the soup of the curry, making it delicious.Teff is a fine grain from Ethiopia that resembles buckwheat flour. In the U.S., you can order it online. This is also delicious made without any teff flour. Timing is important; if you let it stand too long, the batter will stick to the frying pan and the taste will become foul. Be sure to carefully watch the degree of fermentation. Recipe by Puyoeri cookpad.japan -

Laura's Roast Laura's Roast
My grandpa used to make this delicious vegetarian roast for special family holiday meals. My mother has carried on the tradition, and now I've started to make it. Oh, I should mention, we don't have any idea who Laura is/was. But thank you, Laura.I almost always double the recipe and add a little oven time. It's always very popular, and if it doesn't disappear, it's great as leftovers. Curtis Prevo -
East African Breakfast Platter East African Breakfast Platter
#nonindian - This is a typical East African breakfast menu that are very popular. On this platter you will find MANDAZI, a deep fried doughnut which is the most favourite of all. It is generally served with tea or chai in the Swahili lingo. The other dish is UJI WA WIMBI, a porridge made of millet flour. Next comes NDUMA (Arrowroot) & SWEET POTATO, that are boiled and shallow fried. So the locals generally start their day with either of these dishes or as preferred. All in all a healthy breakfast to kick start a day. Bethica Das -

To Serve At Dinnertime: Okara Scones With Cheese To Serve At Dinnertime: Okara Scones With Cheese
I adapted my plain sconesthrough several experiments, to come up with scones that could be eaten as-is. Since the cheese adds fat and calories, I adjusted the amount of butter used. The consistency of the dough will vary depending on how moist the okara is. Start by adding a little soy milk, and add more if needed. Recipe by tearstar cookpad.japan -
