Easy Pork-Wrapped Asparagus

I made this after purchasing nice, thick asparagus.
I love the crunchy texture and aroma when biting into the thick sticks.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Use a vegetable peeler to remove any tough outer fibers of the asparagus, then microwave in a silicon steamer for 1 minute.
- 2
Spread out the pork slices, and season the asparagus with salt and pepper. Roll the asparagus in the pork and dust with katakuriko.
- 3
Heat a non-stick pan and place the wraps inside, sealed edge facing down, and cook until browned on all sides. Drizzle the mentsuyu over the top and it's done.

Bacon-wrapped Asparagus Bacon-wrapped Asparagus
I tried making these without cooking the asparagus first, but it took longer to cook, and the bacon tended to burn. I tried boiling the asparagus first, but then I found that microwaving was faster, and so I came up with this recipe.Pre-cooking the asparagus and carrots in the microwave reduces the amount of frying time, so the bacon doesn't burn as easily and looks appetizing. For 4 servings. Recipe by Kawakamisan cookpad.japan -

Izakaya-Style Asparagus Wrapped in Ground Pork Izakaya-Style Asparagus Wrapped in Ground Pork
I got some really nice asparagus and wanted to eat them whole.Don't parboil the asparagus, since they're best with a crisp texture. If you're using fresh, thick asparagus, you can use less meat. The leftover meat mixture is delicious cooked on its own. The meat should be slightly on the soft side. Recipe by Dokintan cookpad.japan -

Asparagus in Chikuwa Wrapped in Pork Belly Asparagus in Chikuwa Wrapped in Pork Belly
I was getting tired of stuffing in just asparagus and cucumber, so I wrapped it up in pork slices that I just so happened to have, and it transformed from a beer snack into a side dish.If you place the overlapped parts of the pork on the bottom when cooking, then it won't unravel. You can enjoy this with just salt and pepper, but it is fun to dip it in sauce. Recipe by Kiki mama cookpad.japan -

Asparagus and Pork Flower Rollups Asparagus and Pork Flower Rollups
I wanted to make lots of flowers for a sports festival bento. After putting a lid on in Step 5, roll the rolls around in the frying pan occasionally. When making the rollups, make sure to arrange the aspargus evenly as you would a sushi roll, so that the cut cross section will look like a flower. It's easier to make pretty and colorful rolls if you use raw asparagus stalks. This recipe used to say use thin asparagus, but discovered that regular sized asparagus works better so I edited the recipe. For 6 to 8 pieces. Recipe by Marugo-ru cookpad.japan -
