Sharlotka The Russian Apple Cake

Apple cakes are a popular dessert mainly with apple, sugar and cinnamon or nutmeg. It is mainly introduced in Poland with oil in it but American version get more popular with butter in the recipe. Now here's my Russian easy version of apple cake known as Sharlotka very popular among the Russians. Enjoy the healthy, easy and delicious cake with my recipe which has no butter or oil in it. It's soft, spongy, melt in mouth.

Apple cakes are a popular dessert mainly with apple, sugar and cinnamon or nutmeg. It is mainly introduced in Poland with oil in it but American version get more popular with butter in the recipe. Now here's my Russian easy version of apple cake known as Sharlotka very popular among the Russians. Enjoy the healthy, easy and delicious cake with my recipe which has no butter or oil in it. It's soft, spongy, melt in mouth.

Preheat the oven at 180°c and then in a bowl add the eggs blend it with a electric hand mixer along with sugar. Add sugar gradually and whisk it until the mixture become thick and forms a ribbon alike when you pour from top. In another bowl sieve all the dry ingredients and fold it in the wet ingredients little at a time so that it becomes lump free.

Fold it very gently from the bottom to the top making sure all the dry ingredients combine very well. Now add 3/4 cup of the diced apple to batter and mix. Grease the 6 or 7 inch baking pan with oil or butter and pour the batter in it. Tap it twice to make it even now add the remaining 1/4 cup of diced apples on it and bake it for 30-35 mins on 180°c. Once done take out from the oven and leave it for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes unmould it and allow it to cool down completely.

Now sprinkle generously powdered sugar over it and enjoy it with hot mug of coffee or tea.
IMPORTANT
As the baking rule oven should be preheated.
All the ingredients must be on room temperature
The eggs and sugar should be beated until it's more than double in size and looks like a cream or a thick Custard. - 4
Have it hot or cold with a cup of coffee or tea.
