You may be thinking why farmhouse Upma? Well, let me explain that. I have incorporated loads of colorful veggies to make this suji upma healthy, delicious, colourful and eye catching. This recipe will also develop the interest of children and I am sure they will enjoy this recipe.

Steps

Heat oil in a wide pan. Let the ponch phutan splutter on medium flame. The add curry leaves and saute till aromatic. Add both chana dal and urad dal, roasted groundnuts, hing and chopped onion, fry till rawness of onion is gone.

Add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, dry red chili, grated ginger, tomatoes,salt, turmeric powder and sambar masala powder. Saute on low flame till the tomatoes are softened.

Add water, sugar and chopped coriander leaves and sauteed veggies. Bring to boil. Slow down the flame and gradually add roasted semolina/suji, constantly stirring to avoid lump formation. Then add lemon juice.

Soft, delicious, colorful Suji Upma is ready to serve. I served with Potato curry and Boondi.
