Soak the dal for 5 to 6 hrs and Pressure cook the dal. When cooking adds all dry masala and add water adjust the consistency and keep boiling on a low flame.

Take a pan add oil, add mustard seed when sputter adds hing and add chopped onion and saute it then add tomato and cook for some time when the oil separates from the side add all masala and mix it properly and add this mixture in boiling chana dal. Boil for 5 to 7 minutes and garnish with fresh coriander.

Serve with garam paratha and raita, salad.
