Roasted apple parsnips

This is undoubtedly the best way to roast parsnips! A worthy addition to any roast dinner :)
The secret ingredient is apple tea - I use the instant granules (you can get them from Whittards). It tones down those harsh parsnip flavours a bit, and adds a wonderful sweetness.

The secret ingredient is apple tea - I use the instant granules (you can get them from Whittards). It tones down those harsh parsnip flavours a bit, and adds a wonderful sweetness.
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven the 200C. Peel the parsnip, top and tail and then slice into parsnip "chips".
- 2
Add the chips into a small oven-safe dish. Drizzle oil and syrup - not too much syrup, or the parsnips will be oversweet.... Then sprinkle the apple tea granules on top. Stir everything together to coat the parsnips in the other ingredients.
NB I had a pre-cooked beetroot that needed using up today so I added that to the dish pictured (that was also good!)
- 3
Roast for 40-45 minutes in total. Take it out of the oven half way through and stir the parsnips round to ensure they all stay well coated.
