Spiced hazelnut cookies

Not the most glamorous looking biscuits but delicious.
I sometimes make some icing to drizzle over them.
And usually make them around Christmas but they taste good all year round.

Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 180. Line a couple of baking trays.
- 2
Mix the flour and nuts together in a large bowl. Add the butter and rub together so it looks like big breadcrumbs.
- 3
Add the sugar, salt and spices. Then add the vanilla and milk and knead into a dough.
- 4
You can make the cookies any shape you want. I usually shape into small sausages about 6 cm long and then press a fork at either end and then in the middle to flatten the biscuits. They need some space to grow in the oven.
- 5
Bake for 15-25 mins. Depends on how thick they are. They change colour and become fragrant. Test with a skewer - it should come clean.
- 6
If using icing, brush while still warm. Cool and enjoy 😋
