Steps

In a bowl take poha, wash 2-3 times and soak in water for 10 minutes and drain water completely and set aside. (Soaking time depends on the variety of poha you are using.

In a kadai heat oil. Add in mustard seeds and let it pop. Add in peanuts, chana dal, urad dal and fry until golden and crispy.

Add in sliced onion, green chili, curry leaves and saute until onions are translucent. And in turmeric powder and saute for 30 seconds.

Add in poha, lemon juice, salt and mix well. Cover and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Finally add in grated fresh coconut, coriander leaves and stir.

Avalakki Chitranna / Kanda Poha is ready to be served or packed for lunch box.
