Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 4Pork Steaks *about 500g
  2. 1-2 teaspoonsSesame Oil
  3. Marinade
  4. 1small piece Ginger *grated
  5. 1 cloveGarlic *grated
  6. 1 tablespoonSugar *OR Honey
  7. 1-2 tablespoonsOyster Sauce *If you serve this dish with Rice, 2 tablespoons would be better
  8. 1 tablespoonSoy Sauce
  9. 1 tablespoonSake (Rice Wine)
  10. 1/8 teaspoonGround Chilli *OR as required
  11. 1/4 teaspoonChinese Five Spice *optional

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine all the Marinade ingredients in a bowl, add Pork Steaks, coat them with the sauce well, and set aside for 10-15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Scrape off the marinade from Pork Steaks. Heat Sesame Oil in a frying pan over medium high heat and cook until both sides are nicely browned. *Note: I recommend to cover with a lid to stop the splatter and also cook through more quickly.

  3. 3

    When Pork Steaks are browned, lower the heat, add all the marinade, and cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens.
