Ingredients

20 minutes
5 - 6 people
  • 1 cupwashed and finely chopped spinach
  • 1 cuptur daal
  • 1 cupchana daal
  • 1big onion finely chopped
  • 1big tomato finely chopped
  • 2 tbspginger garlic green chillies paste
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 tspdhanya jeera powder
  • 1 tspgaram masala
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1 tspghee
  • 1 tspsliced garlic
  • 1 tspjeera
  • 1/4 tsphing
  • 2-3cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and soak tur daal & chana daal together for 1 hour. Pressure cook till daal is cooked well.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a kadhai, add jeera, cloves, cinnamon stick and hing. And let it splutter.

  3. 3

    Add ginger garlic green chillies paste and onions and cook well till it turns light brown.

  4. 4

    Add tomatoes, salt and cook till tomatoes are soft and mushy. Now add all dry masalas and little water and cook all masalas well.

  5. 5

    Now add finely chopped spinach and cook till it reduces.

  6. 6

    Now add boiled daal and cook for 5 - 10 minutes on medium flame.

  7. 7

    Lastly temper it with ghee, sliced garlic and red chilli powder. Close it and serve hot with rice, paratha or roti.
