Steps
- 1
Soak Urad Dal for 6-7 hours, grind into a smooth paste by adding very less water. Add salt and whisk for 2-3 minutes.
We need almost Idli batter type consistency but fluffy. - 2
Prepare sugar syrup by adding water + sugar, let sugar dissolve, add cardamom pods and boil for 6-7 minutes. We need a thin syrup….. one string consistency.
- 3
Take Appe pan, grease oil and pour 1 heaped tbsp batter in each mould, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Flip other side and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- 5
Then transfer balls into sugar syrup and cook for 5-6 minutes.
- 6
Keep balls in sugar syrup for 2-3 hours and balls will plump and turn soft. Discard cardamom pods.
- 7
Ras Bora / Sweet Dumplings is ready to serve.
