Japanese Tuna Pasta Salad

Japanese people enjoy having small side dishes with their meals, so my Japanese mother-in-law can quickly whip up various side dishes! This chilled salad is a favorite requested by my Japanese father-in-law. I've recorded this simple recipe to share with everyone!
Steps
- 1
Use pasta, this time using a Japanese brand: Kurashimore 1.2mm pasta. This type is specifically for salads and is shorter in length (about 5 inches). If using regular pasta, break it in half.
- 2
Place the pasta in boiling water, cook for about 4 minutes, then remove and rinse under cold water. While rinsing, gently rub the pasta to remove excess starch. If using thicker pasta, remember to extend the cooking time, or refer to the package instructions.
- 3
Add your favorite vegetables, such as thinly sliced cucumber, alfalfa sprouts, shredded carrot, etc. You can also add chopped boiled egg.
- 4
Add the tuna from the can, slightly drained of oil. Tuna cans are rich in oil, so I drain some oil, but you can adjust according to your preference!
- 5
Mix everything well, and it's done♪ You can also enjoy it chilled!
- 6
Taste it, and if you want a stronger flavor, you can add a little salt and pepper! Or, if you like Japanese mayonnaise, you can mix it in at the end!
