Who can resist these yummy Fritters that too when made at tea-time with a hot cup of Chai. These are absolutely beautiful. The aroma and flavor both are mesmerizing. You will just love to munch on these on any given day. A lovely change to deep-fried items that you generally serve to your loved ones. This Pakodi is very much synonymous with Hyderabadi street food. It's sold in every sweetmeat shop as well as roadside small eateries and restaurants too. And are easily done without any hassles at home sweet home too. They can be made for Iftaar meals too just as I did. Sprinkle a dash of Chat Masala and serve at the time of breaking the fast. The best part is that these can be relished on their own as well without any dip.
And an interesting fact related to this Pakodi is that it's also relished with Daleem. The taste is just mindblowing. Do try it if you happen to get your hands on the authentic Daleem at your place.

Steps

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

Make a smooth batter with all the ingredients mentioned without using much water or making the batter runny. It should be thick yet fluffy and without any lumps. The use of thinly sliced Onions makes it fluffy already because it leaves a lot of water. So take care while adding water. Do not add all at once. Use a small spoon for adding it. That way you will never get to add more. You have to be cautious.

  2. 2

Deep fry in hot oil on medium-high to high heat. Do not add them with a spoon or drop them like balls, instead scatter the batter little by little all around the Kadai. While doing so, lower the heat and take care of yourself. Keep an eye on it while frying.

  3. 3

Remove them onto a plate after they turn light golden and crisp. Serve with any Chutney of your or as it is. Yummy Pyaaz ki Pakodi is ready to be enjoyed at tea-time and also for Iftaar too.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
