Add salt to the grated bottle gourd mix well and set aside for 15 - 20 minutes.

Squeeze the gourd and transfer to a bowl.

Add gram flour, asafoetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt mix well.

Add a little water and mix well to make a smooth batter.

Heat oil in a pan.

Drop small portion of batter into the oil and deep fry on medium flame.

Once it turns slightly brown color remove it from oil.

Drain on absorbed paper. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
