Ingredients

  1. 1/3 cupDijon mustard
  2. 1/3 cupsugar
  3. 1/3 cupdistilled white vinegar
  4. 1/3 cupvegetable oil
  5. 2-3 tablespoonshot sauce
  6. 1 teaspooncelery seeds
  7. Salt and freshly ground pepper
  8. 1large head green cabbage, cored and finely chopped (about 10 cups)
  9. 4carrots, finely grated

    In a very large bowl, whisk the mustard with the sugar. Gradually whisk in the vinegar, vegetable oil, hot sauce and celery seeds. Season with salt and pepper; the dressing should be highly seasoned. Add the cabbage and carrots to the dressing and toss thoroughly.
