Ingredients

  • 3table spoons chickpeas (chana dal)
  • 1 cupgrated raw mango
  • 3-4dried red chillies
  • 1 tea spoonmustard seeds (Rai)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds(methi)
  • as required Little asefetoda (hing)
  • 1 table spoongroundnut oil
  • 1 cupfreshly grated coconut

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast redchillies and methi seeds till they change colour.

  2. 2

    In a pan heat oil. Then add Rai and hing. Your seasoning is ready.

  3. 3

    In the same pan, heat two drops of oil and fry chana dal till it turns into light brown in colour.

  4. 4

    In a blender, first grind chillies. Then add chana dal and methi seeds and grind. Then add mango, coconut, salt and adding little bit of water grind it into a course paste. Your chutney is ready.

  5. 5

    Mix it with the seasoning and serve. Goes well with rice, roti, dosa n idli
