  • Seasoning for the pork chops
  • 2pork chops (about 6 oz / 170 g each)
  • 1/4 teaspoongarlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoononion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoonground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoonground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonoil
  • Ingredients for the butternut squash mash
  • 11.65 oz (332 g)butternut squash
  • 1 tablespoonoil
  • 1/2 cupfinely chopped onion
  • 2 clovesgarlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoonsalt

Steps

  1. 1

    PREPARING THE PORK CHOPS
    Mix the spices in a small bowl and season the pork chops.

  2. 2

    Rub both sides of the pork chops with oil.

  3. 3

    Preheat a grill. Sear and brown the pork chops on both sides.

    MAKING THE BUTTERNUT SQUASH MASH
    Cut the butternut squash into pieces and cook in water until tender.

  5. 5

    In another pot, heat the oil and sauté the onion, garlic, and red bell pepper for a couple of minutes.

    Add the butternut squash and mash until smooth.

    Serve immediately with the pork chops.
