Here is my first special recipe for Independence day 💕
The madeleine or petite madeleine is a traditional small cake from Commercy and Liverdun, two communes of the Lorraine region in northeastern France. Madeleines are very small sponge cakes with a distinctive shell-like shape acquired from being baked in pans with shell-shaped depressions.

Ingredients

  1. 1egg
  2. 50 gsugar
  3. 1/4 tesp vanilla powder/essence
  4. 1 tesp honey
  5. 60 gmelted butter
  6. 1/4 tesp lemon zest
  7. 60 gall-purpose flour
  8. 1/4 tesp baking powder
  9. Pinchsalt
  10. Chocolate chips as required
  11. Melted white chocolate
  12. Green food colour

    In bowl add egg, granulated sugar and vanilla powder beat it well.

    Beat until fluffy then add lemon zest in it.

    Add honey and mix again. Melt the butter then cool it completely. Add then beated mixture in melted butter.

    Mix lightly till combined. Cover with plastic wrap and keep in fridge for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Grease the Madeleine tray with oil or butter. Then pour about a tbls of the prepared mixture in it.

    Sprinkle chocolate chips. Bake at 180° for 8-10 minutes (I bake them in pateela, that's why it's in double tone).

    Melt white chocolate in double boiler. Then first add the white in Madeleine tray and set the prepared Madeleine on it. add green colour in remaining chocolate and done with the same process. Keep in fridge.

    It's out easily when the chocolate sets. Delicious French Madeleines are ready 💕 Happy Independence day 💚
