Ingredients

20 minutes
4 servings
  1. 2 cupsMedium thick Poha/ flat rice
    5 minute Poha/ Jhatpat Poha / Instant Poha
  2. 2 tablespoonsOil
  3. 2 tspMustard seeds
    Nagpuri Poha with Tari
  4. 2 tspCumin seeds
  5. 1/4 tspAsafoetida
  6. 2Chopped onions medium
  7. 4Chopped green chillies
  8. 4Green chillies chopped
  9. 8-10Curry leaves
  10. 1/2 cupGreen peas
  11. 1Carrot finely chopped large
  12. as per tasteSalt, chilli powder, turmeric powder
  13. 1 tspSugar
  14. 1Lemon juice of lemon
  15. as requiredChopped coriander leaves to garnish
  16. as requiredSev to garnish
  17. as requiredPickle, lemon wedges to serve

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    First, wash the flat rice 2 to 3 times and let it rest covered for 15 minutes.

    Then heat oil in a deep kadhai. Pop mustard seeds and cumin seeds in it. Then add curry leaves, hing, onions and fry well till aromatic.

    Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, carrots, peas and turn well. Add 1/4 cup water, cover and cook for 5 to 8 minutes.

    When vegetables turn soft, add the poha. Add some more turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, sugar and mix well for 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Sprinkle 1 tablespoon water and cover. Cook till poha is steaming. Then turn off heat. Mix lemon juice.

  6. 6

    Serve immediately garnished with chopped coriander leaves, lemon wedge, Sev, and pickle on the sides. Enjoy!!
