Ingredients

  1. Halfcup rice
  2. 1/2 cupmoong dal
  3. 1 tbsptur dal
  4. 2 cupswater, salt and turmeric
  5. 1 cupFinely chopped mix vegetables (cabbage, carrot, capsicum, peas)
  6. as requiredJeera, chilli ginger paste, curry leaves, kasuri methi
  7. 1chopped tomato
  8. 1/2 tspblack pepper powder
  9. as required oil and ghee

    Wash, rinse and cook the rice and dal with pinch of turmeric and salt to taste.

    In a kadai heat oil, put jeera, chilli ginger paste, hing curry leaves and chopped veggies. Cook for a minute then add in tomato, kasurimethi and pepper powder.

    Cover and cook till the tomato are soft. Add a tbs of curd, mix well the add in the cooked dal and rice. Add some water. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Ready to serve with chaas, achar and papad. At the time of serving, heat the ghee, put curry leaves and red chilli powder.
