My mom used to make a different version of this when i was a kid. So this is my different take on that sweet treat.

In a large pot add the rice and water. Bring to a roiling boil on high heat stirring occasionally then add salt. Turn heat down to low and let rice simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, til rice is tender and some of the water has evaporated. Turn off the heat and let rest covered for 5-8 minutes.

Once most of the water has been evaporated add rest of ingredients (as little or as much to your liking). Then stir to combine well. Taste and add any adjustments then serve immediately while still warm or you can also refrigerate til chilled, just stir before serving (I prefer it warm cuz it enhances the flavors more). Enjoy 😋.
