Orange pie

I already shared my Vegan orange pie, this is the original version with the yoghurt and eggs.
They are both very flavourful and aromatic, try the one you like better (or both, and decide!)
I like it with less sugar, but if you want it sweeter you can increase the amount of sugar and put 1 cup in the mix and 500 g in the syrup.

Take the phyllo sheets and make a roll with them. Cut small slices, so that you end up with thin long strips of phyllo. Separate them and let them to dry a bit. You can also put them in the oven for 10 min so that they dry out quicker.

In the meantime prepare the syrup. Put all ingredients in a saucepan and boil for 5 minutes. Take it off the heat and leave aside to cool

Separate the eggs and beat the whites into a meringue.

Beat yolks and sugar well and add the yogurt, zest, oil, vanilla, baking powder and mix well to incorporate into the mixture.
Add the phyllo pastry and mix with a spoon, making sure that you don't get lumps and each strip is separated from the others. - 5
Finally, with a wooden spoon, add the meringue and mix very gently.

Grease a pan and pour the mixture and bake in the air for about 1 hour at 170 degrees. (Do the knife trick to see if it's ready).

As soon as the dessert comes out of the oven, pour the cold syrup over it immediately. Cold syrup - warm dessert.
Let it cool and put it in the fridge.
