An innovative twist to the simple Breakfast dish that is enjoyed in Hyderabad. In this particular version, I have used Yellow Lentils or Moong Daal, Pigeon Pea Lentils or Toor Daal and last but not the least, Masoor Daal or the Red Lentils and have incorporated Dill Leaves in it as well. Very easy to make and done with simple ingredients. This is sheer bliss. Lentils helps to reduce cholesterol levels in the body since they are rich in soluble fibers. These stabilizes blood pressure levels and promotes healthy weight loss too. Essential for maintaining good heart health. They contains good protiens plus enhances energy levels in the body as well.
This is a yummy variation to the regular Daal that is as good and satiating too.
Made with simple pantry staples, it's the best. I have shared so many variations of this flavourful and aromatic Daal from my City.
This one is an amazing addition to that list. A healthy one and every bit a must have option at least once a Week.
Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps
- 1
Wash and soak the Lentils in enough drinking water for at least 2 to 3 hours. Keep it aside. In the meantime, heat Oil and saute Ginger garlic paste with chopped Onions. After a bit of sauteeing, add Tomatoes and the rest of the spices.
- 2
Cover and cook on a low heat until done with the Tomatoes being soft and mushy. Also add the Dill Leaves. Mix well and now finally add the Lentils along with the water in which they have been soaked. Keep the heat on a medium high and adjust Salt at this stage. Also add in chopped Coriander Leaves. Cover and cook until it is done. The water is enough for it's cooking as these Lentils get cooked pretty much easily.
- 3
Serve hot with Phulkas and Chapatis. It tastes yum with any of the Indian Breads. However if desired, it can be enjoyed with simple boiled Rice too alongside some Poppadoms and Salad. Enjoy!
