Peas pulao in a classic Indian rice made with basmati rice,whole spicez,herbs& course green peas as they are the star of this dish.This easy one pot dish is uper simple to make & just takes 30 mints.

Wash the basmati ricea few times until the water runs clear.Soak it for at least 30mints.Drain & set aside.To a hot pressure cooker pour 1tbsp butter & 1tbsp oil.when the butter & oil becomes hot add a bayleaf & whole garam masala.When the spices begin to sinle add slice onion& greenchilli.

Saute the onion on a low medium flame until deep golden & begin yo caramelize.Than add ginger garlic paste saute on a low flame until a nice aroma comes out. Thanadd a cup of peas & finely chop mintleaves saute for a mints.Then add rice & fry on a slightly high flame for 2-3 mints.Do not over mix or mix vigorously as the rice grains will break.

Then add 3/4tsp or to taste salt & pour 2 1/2cup hot water.Cover the cooker & place a whistle.Pressure cook for 1 whistle on a medium high flame Turn off & remove from the stove. Leaving it on the hot burner will further cook the rice.When the pressure drops naturally. open the lid & fluff the peas pulao.

Serve with raita or papad.I can serve with tomato chutney.
