This is a tradition—every year at Christmas, we make a cake shaped like a log and decorate it with festive colors to make it look cheerful. This time, I decorated the entire cake with chocolate, and everything on the cake is edible.

Separate the egg yolks and whites. In a bowl, mix the yolks with milk, oil, and vanilla. Sift in the flour and cornstarch, then mix until smooth. In another bowl, add a few drops of lemon juice to the egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold a small amount of the egg whites into the yolk mixture to lighten it, then fold the yolk mixture back into the remaining egg whites until fully combined.

Make sure both mixtures are well blended together.

Pour the batter into a rectangular pan. Preheat the oven to 270°F (160°C) and bake for 10 minutes.

Place the baked cake on parchment paper lightly brushed with oil, then roll it up with the paper to help it hold its shape.

Unroll the cake, spread the filling inside, and roll it back up.

Whip the cream and melt the chocolate to decorate the cake as you like. Use the colored chocolate to create tree decorations.

The decorated Yule log cake is ready to enjoy on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas!
