  • 2 1/4 poundscarrots
  • 1 cupor to taste sugar
  • 1 teaspoonor as needed ground cardamom
  • 3 tablespoonsghee
  • 8 3/4 ounceskhoya (mawa)
  • 1 cupmilk
  • as neededNuts of your choice, like cashews or almonds,

Steps

    First, wash, peel, and grate the carrots, then place them in a large pot.

    Heat the ghee in a pan on the stove, then add the carrots and cook on medium heat. Stir the carrots occasionally with a spoon.

    Once all the water from the carrots evaporates, add the milk and cook.

    When the milk evaporates, add the sugar. The sugar will dissolve, and any remaining water in the pan should be evaporated completely.

    After the carrots are cooked, add the ground cardamom and cook on medium heat while stirring. Then mash and mix in the khoya. Our Gajar ka Halwa is ready.
