These are beautiful looking delicious crunchy daal vadas which goes perfectly well with Ginger tea for nice evening snack. Very easy to make with hardly any chance to get it wrong.
Steps
- 1
Soak the daal in sufficient water for 2 hours. Don’t over-soak it as that will reduce the crunchiness of Vada.
- 2
Make a corse paste of the daal, without adding any water. If few grains are whole, not getting to a paste form, that’s perfectly fine.
- 3
Mix ginger, onion, chopped green leaves, and salt into the daal mixture. Once mixed well, make small balls out of it and flatten them a bit, like cookies.
- 4
Heat oil, once hot, reduce the flame and fry the vadas, turning and making sure both sides are cooked well, making them look golden crunchy and yummy looking.
- 5
Serve with, as I have already mentioned, a steaming hot cup of ginger tea. Or with coriander chutney or tomato ketchup. Goes awesomely well.
