First we will coat the fish with some salt & turmeric. Now heat a pan and fry th well. Now keep this fried fish pieces aside.

Now in the same oil, shallow fry the remaining vegetables like brinjal and potato pieces. Keep them aside too.

Now we will prepare the masala paste first. For that take a small bowl; add all the dry masalas mentioned above like corriender powder, cumin powder, turmeric, red chilli powder and some salt. Now add some water and make a paste out of it. Then add grated ginger in it and mix everything once again.

Now in the same pan add some oil & heat it. Then add some jeera & kalounji. Let them splutter, then add all the khada masalas mentioned above like cinnamon stick, green cardamom, bay leaf & dried red chillies. Let them splutter for a while then add some tomato pieces into it. Fry it for about a minute. Then add the prepared masala paste in it. Now fry the masala on a low flame for about 2 minutes.

Then add about 2 cups of lukewarm water and mix it well with the masalas. You can adjust the quantity of water as per your requirement. Now add some salt & turmeric powder and mix it. Now cover the pan and let it come to a boil.

Once the curry comes to a boil add the fried fish pieces into it and mix it. Add the shallow-fried potatoes too. Now keep the flame low & cover the pan and let it cook for about 7 minutes. Now open the lid in between and drop the brinjal pieces too into it. Now again cover the pan and let it cook for 5 to 7 minutes more until the potato pieces & the fish pieces are cooked properly.

Now open the lid and add some chopped corriender in it and mix it. Switch off the flame. Your Niramish Macher Jhol is now ready to serve. Serve it hot with some steamed rice.
