Steps
- 1
Separate the egg yolks and egg whites into two different bowls.
- 2
In Bowl 1: Whisk together the 4 egg yolks, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract by hand until well combined. Sift in the cake flour and cornstarch, then mix until smooth.
- 3
In Bowl 2: Add the lemon juice to the 4 egg whites. Beat with an electric mixer until foamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar in 3 parts. Continue beating until soft peaks form—do not overbeat.
- 4
Gently fold the egg yolk mixture (Bowl 1) into the whipped egg whites (Bowl 2) until just combined. Pour the batter into a cake pan. Sprinkle the top with Chinese sausage, green onions, and pork floss.
- 5
Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 50 minutes. Preheat the oven for 10 minutes before baking.
