Chicken Momos

Important note: Momos are NOT dumplings or dimsums.
#trendy
Now let me tell you about momos. These little pockets of heaven are an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The thin, delicate dough is a perfect contrast to the juicy, savory filling that bursts with every bite. The aroma of the herbs and spices used in the filling is enough to make your mouth water. And the texture - oh, the texture! Soft yet firm, these little momos are an absolute pleasure to eat.
The dipping sauce is just as important as the momos themselves. The fiery, tangy sauce complements the delicate flavors of the momos perfectly. The heat from the sauce is just enough to awaken your taste buds without overwhelming the delicate flavors of the momos. Whether you prefer them steamed or fried, momos are the ultimate comfort food - perfect for any occasion, any time of day.

Steps
- 1
Add salt, water and oil to the all-purpose flour and knead it into a dough. Set aside for ~20 minutes.
- 2
Roll it out and cut out circles of diameter 4-5 inches.
- 3
Now for the filling. Take a pan and heat some oil. Add chicken, garlic cloves, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, white pepper and hot sauce.
- 4
Fry until chicken is tender and it's all dried up.
- 5
Cut the vegetables into pieces up and add them to a chopper along with the fried chicken mixture.
- 6
Add the filling to the circles you cut out. Make sure not to add too much or it won't fold properly. Don't add too less or else you'll only taste the dough. This part is also going to vary from person to person as it depends on how you are folding the circles.
- 7
Now put the uncooked momos into the steamer for 7-8 minutes.
- 8
Meanwhile, add tomatoes, red whole chilli and garlic cloves to a pot and bring to a boil. Don't use a lot of water. After they have boiled remove the skin of the tomatoes.
- 9
After they have boiled remove the skin of the tomatoes.
- 10
In the same water add back the skinned tomatoes, salt, oil, black pepper and shezwan sauce and put the whole mixture into a blender. Make sure it's not too thick or thin.
- 11
Serve your momos with the sauce. I recommend making these with spaghetti. Makes for a really nice combo.
