Ghugni is a wonderful tiffin recipe which is a preparation out of White / Yellow dried Peas and can be an excellent accompaniment to Phulka / Paratha during Tiffin time.

Ghugni is a wonderful tiffin recipe which is a preparation out of White / Yellow dried Peas and can be an excellent accompaniment to Phulka / Paratha during Tiffin time.

Assemble ingredients

Overnight soak peas and then Boil peas in 1 cup water for 4-5 whistles and allow pressure to release by itself.

In moderately heated pan add oil, add bay leaf + cumin seeds and allow to crackle, then add chopped onion and sauté till pinkish, then add ginger + garlic and sauté till rawness goes off.
Add chopped Tomatoes and sauté for 1 minute. - 4

Add all spices + curd along with 2 tbsp water so that spices don’t burn and sauté till spices turn aromatic.

Add boiled peas and mix well.

Add water and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add chopped Coriander and stir well. - 8
Simmer for 3-4 minutes and dish is done.

Pack for Tiffin box.
