Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsall-purpose flour (250 grams)
  2. 2/3 cupsugar (125 grams)
  3. 9 tablespoonsunsalted butter (125 grams)
  4. 1 teaspoonbaking powder (about half a packet)
  5. 4egg yolks
  6. 1 pinchsalt
  7. 1 tablespoon"four spice" blend (or Christmas spice mix / gingerbread spice mix)

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix and knead all the ingredients together.

  2. 2

    Roll out the dough to about 1/12 inch (2 millimeters) thick. Tip: Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out with a rolling pin.

    Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.

  4. 4

    Place the shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. 5

    Bake in a preheated oven at 320°F (160°C) for 10 minutes.

  6. 6

    Remove from the oven and let cool.

  7. 7

    Enjoy right away or store in a metal tin... if there are any left!
