Collect the necessary materials. Place near the cooking area.

Cut a banana into 2 halves; add turmeric powder, squeeze 1 lemon or lime on top and steam cook in a pressure cooker. Do not ovecook. Cook until a little soft. Take out, cool, and peel. Chop into small pieces.

When bananas are cooking make the stock powder. Stock powder,
heat 2 tbsp of oil in a saucepan over medium heat - 2 min.. First fry coriander separately, - 2 min. ; add dals, and fry until golden brown, 2 -3 mins. Then add pepper corns and dried chilies. Do not burn the chilies. Switch off the stove. Transfer the fried items to a bowl or a plate. Let it cool.
In the same saucepan, heat 2 tbsp oil on medium low flame - 2 min.. Add coconut and fry. Let it be brown. - 5
Grind all the fried ingredients in a mixer. Masala powder is ready. You may also Store this in an airtight jar.

Heat 4 tbsp of oil in a pan/kadai over medium heat and fry the mustard seeds. Let the seeds splatter. Stir in fennel/ cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds. Stir in asafetida and turmeric powder. Add curry leaves and onions and saute for 5 minutes, onions are translucent but enough. Add Ginger and garlic, mix.
Add banana slices. You can mash the banana with a spoon. Salt to taste.. Add 2 tablespoons stock powder, reduce heat and simmer for 6 minutes. Squeeze 1 lemon ; stir. Sprinkle chopped cilantro - 7
Banana podimas is ready. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat, then add rice, 3 cups of potimas and stir- 4 minutes. Taste the podimas rice and serve. Enjoy the aromatic, spicy flavorful nutritious podimas rice
