Moong dal is rich in Minerals, Carbs , Vitamins , lowers High Blood Pressure , Diabetic friendly among many other benefits. So children must be taught to eat Moongdal in 1 form or other.
One can make moongdal paratha ,dalfry from it ,fritters, pancakes & a lot many varieties from it.
Here I have tried to make a non-fried version from Moongdal. It is very healthy & children are sure to love it. Let us see the recipe.....

Steps

Wash both the dals 2-3 times in water & drain the water. Add fresh water & soak the dal in water for about 4 hours.

Drain the soaked water & grind the dal to a fine paste. Add onions, grated carrots & all the masala.Add salt, coriander & grated ginger.Mix well.

Tempering : Heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds, when they splutter add curry leaves & asafoetida. Immediately pour the tempering on the moong dal mixture. Mix well.

Heat the appe pan with little oil in each socket. Beat the moong dal mixture very well with a hand whisk, for atleast 5 minutes or till the mixture is light & fluffy.

Pour 1-1 tb.sp.of mixture in each socket. Cover & cook for 2-3 minutes. Now invert the appe very slowly & let it cook the other side till it becomes brownish. Remove and cool the appe. Pack the appes in the tiffin with favourite green chutney.
OR serve them as a starter in a party. It will surely be a hit. - 6
I am sure when the children come home from school, they will have all praises for their mothers for giving them yummy tiffin. And am sure, this will brighten up mothers faces too.❤🌹❤
