Ingredients

25 minutes
3-5 servings
  1. 1.5 cupdry yellow peas boiled
  2. 2boiled potatoes chopped
  3. 2ripe tomato
  4. 1 Tbspgrated ginger
  5. 1 Tbspchopped garlic
  6. 1green chilli chopped
  7. 2 Tbspmustard oil
  8. 1 Tspponch phutan
  9. 2small cardamoms
  10. 1 inchcinnamon
  11. 3-5black pepper
  12. 2cloves
  13. 1 piecemace
  14. 1bay leaf
  15. 1 Tspcoriander powder
  16. 1/2 Tspcumin powder
  17. 1/2 TspKashmiri red chilli powder
  18. 1 pinchand 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
  19. Salt as required
  20. 3/4 Tspchana masala powder
  21. Coriander leaves to garnish

    Arrange and assemble the ingredients.

    Heat oil and splutter ponch phutan. Add chopped onion and fry. Mix all the whole garam masala seeds and roast on low flame till aromatic.

    Then add chopped garlic, grated ginger and chopped green chilli. Mix and saute well. Add chopped tomatoes.

    Add coriander powder, cumin powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Cook till tomatoes are softer.

    Adjust salt, add a cup of water and boiled potatoes chopped.

    Then add chana masala powder, mix nicely and add the boiled yellow peas with water.

    Bring to boil and set gravy as per choice. Garnish with fresh green coriander leaves and serve.
