Ingredients

  • 1 cupBrown Chana/Chickpeas (Boiled)
  • 1Potato (Steamed, Peeled and Chopped into bite size cubes)
  • Dressing Ingredients:
  • 1 tbspTomato Ketchup
  • 1 tbspTamarind Sauce
  • 1 tbspLemon Juice
  • 1 tbspOlive Oil
  • 1/4 tspRed Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tspDried Mixed Herbs
  • 1/4 tspChaat Masala
  • Salt to Taste
  • Veggies:
  • 1Onion (Chopped)
  • 1Tomato (Chopped) or 6-8 Baby/salad tomatoes
  • 1 InchGinger (Grated)
  • 2-3Green Chillies (Finely Chopped)
  • 2 tbspCoriander Leaves (Chopped)
  • For Garnish:
  • 2 tbspNylon Sev
  • 1 tbspCoriander Leaves (Chopped)

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and soak the chana/chickpeas overnight. Boil and strain the chana. (Cooked in Instant Pot for 20-25 minutes to get perfectly cooked chana). Set it aside to cool.

    In a large mixing bowl add a cup of the boiled chana, the chopped potato cubes and all the ingredients mentioned under “Dressing” and mix it gently until well combined.

    Next add the ingredients mentioned under “Veggies “ and fold it gently. Chana-Aloo chaat is ready.

    Transfer the chaat into a serving bowl and garnish it with sev and chopped coriander leaves.
