Steps

Cream together butter sugar and egg yolk. Stir in flour and spices.

Add fruit and milk to form soft dough. Knead lightly onto a floured surface. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick and use a 2" cutter cut out the biscuits.

Bake on a greased baking sheet for 10 mins at gas mark 6 200c.

Remove from oven and brush with beaten egg and sprinkle little caster sugar and bake for 5 mins until golden. Cool on a wire rack.
