Ingredients

  1. 0.5 cupleftover rice (pilaf)
  2. Oil

Cooking Instructions

    Spread leftover rice in a tray and let it dry. It takes about 4-5 hours in a dry and warm place.

    Then pour oil in a small pot (up to one third of the depth of a little pot).
    Put it on low heat, until it gets hot.

  3. 3

    Put a teaspoon of dried rice in a steel strainer and dip it in hot oil, just for 5 seconds till the rice puffs.
    ❗️Follow the safety tips so as not to burn yourself. wear gloves

  4. 4

    Remove the puffed rice from the oil and put it on a paper towel so that the excess oil is absorbed by the paper towel

  5. 5

    My leftover rice was salty, you can use your favorite spices.

Yes! My grandparents used to always have this as a snack and I never knew what it was called. What’s it called in Farsi? And sometimes they would have I think puffed barley in it too right?
