First wash the spiny gourd very well and cut the into long slices.

Now heat the oil in a pan.when the oil is heated, add carom seeds, asafetida, garlic paste and chopped spiny gourd and mix well.Add salt and turmeric.

Stir well and put in on gas burner At low flame for 5-6 minutes.Meanwile stir it frequently.When it cooked add red chilli powder and stir well.Serve it with roti/paratha or puri.
