Today we wanted to have something different for breakfast at home, so I decided to make sopes. They turned out really good. I hope you give them a try ❣️

In a bowl, mix the masa with water and salt. The dough should be soft and not stick to your hands.

Shape medium-sized balls and use a tortilla press to flatten them into sopes, about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick. Place them on a very hot griddle with a little oil. Cook on both sides, then set aside.

Once the sopes are cooked, pinch the edges to form a rim. Spread refried beans in the center and warm them briefly on the griddle. Top with cheese, salsa, and chopped onion to taste. Enjoy!
